PROJECT FOR BFSP#01
Two Lips embodies a dialogue of becoming between living and non-living, imagining a body from a posthuman perspective. This shell is at once an environment and a body: a habitat for an animal, and a fleshy form in itself, an analogy for the body. This form is a sculptural thinking-through the ideas of feminist theorists Donna Haraway and Rosi Braidotti and their call to broaden our awareness of ourselves beyond a closed, human-centered framework. This work could be seen as a semi-fictive female body or topology; imagined and at the same time real.
